BeritusThe Women in Law Program in Lebanon is partnering with the Mohamad Dib Law Offices for the implementation of professional development activities for young Arab female legal practitioners in Beirut and Tripoli.

Dania Dib, a practicing attorney registered with the Tripoli Bar Association, is the Lebanese country coordinator for WILpower. Together, with the support of a core group of professional female attorneys, she and WILpower participants in Lebanon will look at ways in which to empower other young women in the legal sector and assist those working in legal reform, community development, social work, human rights and women’s issues in Lebanon.

In the last two decades, the Lebanese society has been very active through various public and private sector organizational efforts, and significant advances have been made on critical social issues related to women and equality. However, the Lebanese legal community is still striving to create a prosperous environment for the professional development of female legal practitioners. As such, WILpower seeks to support the efforts of the Lebanese legal community as a whole, offering opportunities for professional growth and development through several workshops to be held in Beirut and Tripoli.  These workshops will focus on multiple topics - including but not limited to - English and Arabic legal research and writing, oral argumentation skill building, leadership training for young attorneys, business and entrepreneurial skills training applicable for start-up law firms. In addition, other online legal skill-building, social networking, and professional resource support activities will be offered.

WILpower has conducted two local training workshops in Lebanon - in both Beirut and Tripoli. To access a summary and photos of this event, please click here.
