Young women in the Middle East have a key role to play in developing open, effective justice systems in their region. Supporting and enhancing the professional development of female legal practitioners is essential to maximize the impact of and leverage the opportunities inherent in this role.
WILpower recognizes the need within legal communities for growing awareness and understanding of the critical linkage between the individual and a larger collaborative community. Through establishment of local hubs and an overall regional network, WILpower will connect female law students and legal practitioners so that they inspire and support one another within communities and across borders.
WILpower's programmatic activities focus on the Lebanese and Palestinian legal communities, as well as legal communities across the Gulf region. WILpower hopes to expand its activities to support and include young legal professionals in other communities across the Middle East and North Africa.
